Legends of the Summer is a fitting name. Justin Timberlake, with his boy band turned solo platinum recording artist status, an SNL skit here and there, some golf with Bill Murray, and maybe even a film with Mila Kunis. Then there’s Jay-Z, arguably the biggest Hip Hop mogul, along with being one of the most influential persons in the world, he happens to be a decent business, man. Both of which are fresh off platinum albums, it doesn’t get much better then that. As soon as the two gentlemen stepped on to that stage, this untouchable aura arrived, and infected the building for over two hours.
That’s how many copies of Mr. Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience were sold in just the first week. The once N’SYNC member has graced us with three solo albums, all of which progressively did better on the selling charts. Justified sold 439,00 first week, FutureSex/LoveSounds moved 684,000 and according to Billboard 200, the official US Album Chart, The 20/20 Experience surpassed both with nearly a million copies. The album is fantastic if you haven’t already listened to it, his style and maturity have progressed, making the record smooth and diverse.
The Canadian wonder-boy has done it again. The record sales for Believe are in and they did not disappoint.
