Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 12

It has been a phenomenal week of music, especially Hip Hop.
J. Cole released some Soul via his Twitter this week. A sample from David Ruffin circa 1969 “Double Cross,” with some kicks, snares and lyrics that bring Hip Hop back down to earth.
Wiz dropped a free track via Twitter. Gorillaz enlisted 3 Stacks and James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) for a promotional track for Limited Edition Chucks. Rihanna and Chris Brown both buried the hatchet and hopped on each other’s remixes. Odd Future released a new single for the upcoming project The Odd Future Tape Vol. 2 due out March 20.
Nicki Minaj silenced the critics about being “soft” with her latest single. I highly doubt Sophia Grace’s mom will let here cover this one.
Santigold dropped a fantastic single this week with great instrumentation and another one of her addictive beats. The upcoming project Master Of My Make-Believe is expected May.
Chilled out productions from Ryan Tedder and Dot Da Genius for Bobby Ray and WizardCud.

First off, Rest In Peace to Whitney Houston, 48 is just too young.
Happy Monday everybody, if the gloomy 9 to 5’s are bringing your spirits down, slap on the Gigamesh remix to Grouplove’s single or the two tracks from Flashlights.
Also in the mix, Domo hooked up with Wiz, Drizzy dropped in on Jeezy’s “I Do” and J. Cole landed a hand to up and comer 360.
Chromatics release another beautiful single Neil Young would be proud of.

Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 9

As we all know, the beautiful Lana Del Rey dropped her first LP on the world Tuesday. Despite the less than stellar SNL performance, this record is quite phenomenal. There are a couple non-single tracks in the mix and I would definitely advise you to pick up a copy of Born To Die.
Also joining the mix is a fresh single from WZRD (Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius).
New material from Beach Fossils and Pretty Lights as well.

Beck lends his helping hand to transform the classy single from Canadian singer Feist into an edgy vermouth, splashed in a martini glass and served at your local burlesque night club.
ScHoolboy Q‘s dropped his second independent Hip Hop record featuring A$AP Rocky, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Lex Luger & The Alchemist.
New singles from Miike Snow, Plants And Animals & Sleigh Bells. Look out for their upcoming records.
