Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 18

Kanye West did his thing last week, having every major blog around the world talking about you; check. First it was “Theraflu,” where he tweeted the artistically provocative artwork. Then, the chatter surrounding a G.O.O.D. music compilation album surfaced with a single featuring label mates. Mr. West has this innate ability to get everyone in the music industry, be it artists, Russell Simmons or bloggers; to hone in on whatever he’s up to.

Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica finally graces the music scene with a fresh new track.

Urban Noize does a fine job of remixing the West/Fiasco “Touch The Sky” single with some Florence Welch vocals.

The Swedish Dream Pop group JJ is working on their third LP and gave us a taste of it this week.

New singles from Kid Ink, Curren$y, Dragonette, T.I., Blue Foundation, Fat Joe and more.

Hot Chip released a video this week of their new single “Flutes,” and Friday, the MP3 surfaced. Incredible production value, i’m anticipating a fantastic record.
3 tracks from Frank Ocean this week. “Thinking About You” has finally surfaced in 320 kbps, I am ecstatic.
Nas dropped his second single for his final Def Jam album Life Is Good, expected sometime this year. Phenomenal production team on this track.

Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 12

It has been a phenomenal week of music, especially Hip Hop.
J. Cole released some Soul via his Twitter this week. A sample from David Ruffin circa 1969 “Double Cross,” with some kicks, snares and lyrics that bring Hip Hop back down to earth.
Wiz dropped a free track via Twitter. Gorillaz enlisted 3 Stacks and James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) for a promotional track for Limited Edition Chucks. Rihanna and Chris Brown both buried the hatchet and hopped on each other’s remixes. Odd Future released a new single for the upcoming project The Odd Future Tape Vol. 2 due out March 20.

Chilled out productions from Ryan Tedder and Dot Da Genius for Bobby Ray and WizardCud.
