Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 97

Zedd - Find You

Welcome to Volume Ninety-Seven of Monday Blues & Beats. First off, shout out to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on your Grammy dreams coming true. It was a tough year for picking the winners, I felt as if there were too many artists putting forth their best work. Now to this weeks mix, we have one of the best Ellie Goulding remixes I have ever heard, ScHoolboy Q brand new single, Nikki Jean covering Ab-Soul, and Kendrick Lamar on a Imagine Dragons track?? Let’s get to it

Ellie Goulding – “Goodness Gracious (The Chainsmokers Remix)”

As promised last week, we have the incredibly talented disc jockey duo from New York putting their spin on Goulding’s “Goodness Gracious.” I promise you, whether you like electronic music, Ellie Goulding or hate them both, this track right here, is something special.

Imagine Dragons – “Radioactive (Remix) [feat. Kendrick Lamar]”

In celebration of the 2014 Grammy Awards, the Dragons and Lamar release their stunning live performance as a single. It almost seemed pre-determined that KDot wouldn’t win a well-deserved Grammy, as he snaps hard on this joint.

Available on

ScHoolboy Q – “Break The Bank”

The excitement level for Q’s third studio album is off the charts, to say the least. Every single and promo track has been fire. The latest off Oxymoron comes with a beat from The Alchemist

Pre-Order on

Memorecks – “Trouble (feat Jenna Pemkowski)”

James Peck aka Memorecks of Toronto, Canada released a 5-track EP/B-Side yesterday. I immediately fell for this haunting beat and looping vocals.

YG – “My Nigga (Remix) [feat Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Rich Homie Quan & Nicki Minaj]”

Keenon Jackson aka YG enlists the A-Team for his official remix. Everyone goes in, even Wayne. Produced by DJ Mustard

Jennifer Lopez – “Girls”

Speaking of DJ Mustard, he gets a big assist on JLo’s latest single.

Zedd – “Find You (feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)”

Congratulations to Mr. Zaslavski for his first Grammy Award last night. Here’s his brand new single featuring vocals from Matthew Koma once again.

Available on

BJ The Chicago Kid – “15 Minutes Of Fame (feat. Add-2)”

I got love for BJ, and i’m looking forward to his first major label debut sometime this year. This soulful gem comes from the compilation project Jamla Is The Squad, produced by 9th Wonder

Blood Orange – “On The Line (Star Slinger Edit)”

It’s been a minute since Star Slinger has made his way into the AHM mixes. But here we are, as he tinkers with one of my favourites from Blood Orange’s Cupid Deluxe album.

Young Money – “We Alright (feat. Euro, Birdman & Lil Wayne)”

Young Money announced their second full roster compilation album (third overall) Rise of an Empire which is slated for a March release. Here’s the lead single, produced by S-X

Beck – “Blue Moon”

Beck put his 12th studio album up for pre-order this week, and “Blue Moon” serves as the first single. The vibe here is more folk then experimental electronic.

Pre-Order on

Nikki Jean – “Drift Away (Ab-Soul Cover)”

Ab-Soul isn’t necessarily the easiest person to cover, but Ms. Nikki Jean does it extreme justice. I wouldn’t mind hearing her luscious voice more often.

OB O’Brien – “Steve Nash”

You might know him as the comedic goof with the beard from Drake’s videos. But this white man has some decent bars. Produced by Chef Byer
