Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 94

PartyNextDoor

Welcome to the first mix of 2014, hope you all enjoyed your holidays. This week on the list, we have 8 minutes of glorious music from Tokyo Police Club, some new PartyNextDoor, Nipsey Hussle, Just Blaze with Mysto & Pizzi and a Hip Hop remix with Vampire Weekend.

Tokyo Police Club – “Argentina (Parts I, II, III)”

The Newmarket, Ontario boys are back with a track that’s over twice as long as their usual repertoire. The wicked lyric video surfaced a couple weeks ago, but here’s the self-released single that i’m guessing is on their next project.

SELA. – “Heartbeat (feat. Allie)”

The 19-year old from Vallejo, California, signed to the Japanese label Flau, celebrated the conclusion of 2013 with a free track. A stunning array of piano and chillwave instrumentation, fit for any ‘Lounge/Chillout/Midnight Drive’ playlist.

PartyNextDoor – “I Don’t”

The Toronto crooner finishes 2013 off with a bang. Hoping 2014 produces a new project for him

Future – “Rocky”

Captain Hook is progressing in his career, and begins 2014 with a solid number, produced by KE on the Track

Nipsey Hussle – “6 Inch Heels (feat. June Summers)”

The Cali emcee concluded twenty-thirteen in successful fashion, with his #proud2pay campaign, charging $100 for his Crenshaw mixtape for the true fans. Why stop there? His first release of twenty-fourteen is a beaut

French Montana – “All For You (feat. Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg)”

French Montana starts the year off with a mixtape Coke Boys 4. What Cool & Dre does with this Lana Del Rey sample is gorgeous.

French Montana – “88 Coupes (feat. Jadakiss)”

Another one from Montana’s tape features bars from Jadakiss. Produced by Harry Fraud

The Walking Sticks – “Send The Night (Drexler Remix)”

The Dream Pop trio from Maryland receive a well-orchestrated remix from Drexler

Just Blaze – “1 UP (feat. Mysto & Pizzi)”

The New York producing duo Mysto and Pizzi have clearly made it, a joint instrumental grungy pump-up track with the one and only Just Blaze

Vampire Week – “Step (Remix) [feat. Danny Brown, Heems & Despot]”

The indie poppers from NY have teamed up with two Queens-based rappers and Mr. Danny Brown from Detroit.

Rich Homie Quan – “Walk Thru (feat. Problem)”

Here’s the CDQ of a standout from Rich Homie’s last mixtape. Produced by League of Starz

Trae Tha Truth – “What It Do (feat. T.I.)”

Grand Hustle has started the year off with a compilation tape. Here’s one from Trae and the boss
