Monday Blues & Beats Vol. 64

Vol. 64

Monday means new music over here at AHM, so let’s get into it. Side-note: This week Justin Timberlake graced the music industry with his third solo LP, which I personally think will sell over 700,000 copies first week, but we shall see. Now to the music, we have a couple tunes coming to us from overseas, an all-star remix to Rihanna’s “Pour It Up,” John Legend back in the saddle, and much more.

Haim – Falling (Duke Dumont Remix)

I have been posting music from these three SoCal sisters for a little while now, and here’s a gorgeous remix of their latest single. My excitement for their debut album is constantly growing, and with management via Roc Nation, i’m sure success is in order.

Shlohmo – Bo Peep (Do U Right) [feat. Jeremih]

Shlohmo creates magic with the keys. Jeremih delivers an absolution infectious melody over Shlohmo’s hypnotizing beat. This joint will be in heavy rotation over the next couple weeks.

John Legend – The Beginning

Mr. Legend has kept his patient fans waiting long enough, here’s “The Beginning.” Besides his record with The Roots, his last solo album was 5 years ago. Love In The Future is the fourth full-lengths titles, and apparently it’s set for 2013 release. Hit-Boy dug into crate for this nostalgic slow jam.

John Legend – Who Do You Think We Are (feat. Rick Ross)

The second single from G.O.O.D.’s veteran crooner comes to us this morning. This right here is a classic John Legend joint, with a classic Rozay feature. Dave Tozer worked on the track (with Kanye and Bink), who’s worked with Legend a lot over the years.

Rihanna – Pour It Up (Remix) [feat. Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Juicy J & T.I.]

It’s always a treat when my favourite beat from an album (Unapologetic) receives a remix, an all-star cast is just a bonus. The banger courtesy of Mike Will.

Miracle Of Modern Science – Dear Pressure

The 5-piece from New York are on the grind for their upcoming EP MEEMS. As per usual, the group uses a vast variety of instruments, including but not limited to the mandolin, cello and violin. This mixture of pop hooks and indie rock will be sure to have you moving your feet.

ScHoolboy Q – Yay Yay

TDE’s ScHoolboy Q is a few tracks away from completing his third full-length. Oxymoron (2013) will be his debut album under Interscope Records; the second Black Hippy member to release an LP with the label. Produced by Boi-1da.

The Noise – Ringo Starr

Hailing from Romania, The Noise creates a fantastic combination of distortion and melody for our listening pleasure. Pick up the 3-track single for free HERE

Lil Wayne – Trippy (feat. Juicy J)

While Weezy’s latest album IANAHB2 has already leaked, I have yet to listen to it, but so far the record sounds like an improvement. “Trippy” is the latest single produced by Crazy Mike, with a verse from the fitting character Juicy J.

Tyga – Fuck For The Road (feat. Chris Brown)

I appreciate when Tyga vibes on this sound and flow, I feel it suits him more then the club bangers. Enlisting Chris Brown for a silky hook, and Lil C for the beat, is cause for a radio single. Hotel California hits shelves April 9.

Lemontrip – Wander

The Netherlands have brought us yet another creative producer, with a fresh outlook. This haunting tune starts slow, but finds a home with a deep bass line and a variety of quirky, intricately placed sounds.
