Happy Monday to everyone, hope you all were feeling the Top 25 Albums list. This week Vampire Weekend announced an upcoming (experimental) album, The Postal Service is apparently headlining a tour, it’s been what 10 years; but who’s counting and as per usual lots of good music came out of the week. Drake’s highly anticipated single drops over a week early, Curren$y’s new mixtape dropped, and there were three amazing electronic remixes. Also included, new material from Midi Mafia, Wavves, Caveman and more.
Thanks for putting me on to this one @BobbyBolivia1. Daniel Goldstein (aka Lane 8) literally creates a dream, so climb aboard the cloud and ride it. This contains samples from Diana Ross & The Supremes – Reflections. Check out more of the San Fran natives music HERE
While Drake may have announced the single would drop on the 10th, he leaked it early for free. As the first single from his third LP, there’s not a whole lot to it, but it’s a banger anthem for his posse. Produced by Mike Zombie and 40.
The incredible Dutch DJ throws a triumphant spin on Passion Pit’s latest single. It seems like time stands still for Mr. Verwest, no matter the trend, he always manages to put out fantastic music.
It’s been a minute since i’ve heard a beat from Midi Mafia, but oh snap did they murder this one. MMG’s rookie Rockie Fresh takes good care of the beat and spits all over it.
The five-piece Brooklyn rockers are set for their self-titled sophomore LP. “In The City” serves as the first single, in all it’s 80s dreamy fashion.
The French electronic quartet put a wicked spin on Rihanna’s Ginuwine-sample induced track, and add a verse from NY’s Theophilus London. Check out more of their material HERE
Another well crafted remix from last week, this one sees San Fran’s Barrett Richards place Miguel’s carefree number into a fantasy world. Check out more Kastle HERE
The young emcee from Sin City has dropped another leak from the upcoming Foundation 2. He spits some honesty bars over a pretty basic piano/drumkick beat brought to you by Epik.
This San Diego group has been painted as Indie/Grunge/Garage/Noise/Surf Rock, you be the judge. Their latest single has a good Weezer feel to it, and can be found on their upcoming album Afraid Of Heights (March 26)
This joint surfaced a couple weeks ago, but I neglected to post it due to the low quality/clean version. But here it is, the smooth-ass production from DJ Premier and mad bars of Joey in CDQ/Explicit.
Mr. Spitta dropped his New Jet City mixtape this week, and I advise you download the full tape. This collabo features Rozay and Wiz chillin’, and a phenomenal (non-trap) beat from Lex Luger.
“Joyenergizer” is Sander’s latest single, and belongs in those gym/workout playlists. It’s a whirlwind of progressive trance bliss.
CyHi dropped his Ivy League: Kick Back tape last week, it’s full of good features and producers. Gambino spits a verse over a Mel & Mus beat.
Chrisette’s material is usually hit or miss for me, but the beat is smooth, and 2 Chainz adds a little edge to this slow jam.
